5 Things You Have to Do Before Hiring Pool Builders

The worst regret you can have when building a pool is that of finding the right person for the job when you have already installed your pool. People spend a lot of time and money fixing their pools after the original installation. To help you avoid these experiences, there are a couple of steps you need to take to make sure you make an investment that will not disappoint you.

Hire the most competent builders

You may have the best pool idea and a good budget but if you hire the wrong central Florida pool builders, you will end up with frustrations. Not every contractor out there will be able to deliver on his/her promises. That is why you need to be very vigilant when deciding on the pool company to hire. Here are important things you should do before picking a pool company.

  • Pick contractors with valid contractor’s licenses.
  • Make sure the contractor belongs to a trade organization. Being part of a trade organization means the contractor adheres to strict codes of ethics.
  • Look the contractor up on the Better Business Bureau listing. This will help you know if there are complaints against the contractor.
  • Visit the premise of the contractor. This helps determine if the contractor has a permanent office location, the right equipment and if he is reputable.
  • Check the references and visit some of their most recent projects.

Consider your motivation

Now that you know how to hire the right central Florida pool builders, it is time to get ready for the project. The first thing is to identify your motivation. Why do you want the pool? Will it be for swimming laps, hosting pool parties, taking quick dips, for kids to splash or just for decoration? Being clear on the purpose of the pool is the key to getting things moving in the right direction.

Design and features

Which amenities do you need? Should the pool have a diving board or a slide? You may also be interested in romantic things like the grotto hidden behind a waterfall. Some people may also be interested in a spa with a fountain as well as fire features. The atmosphere and amenities will depend on your preferences and budget.

Budget

It costs money to build a pool. It is good to have a clear budget in hand before you get started. You should note that there are several methods you can use to pay for your pool. They include using a home equity line, unsecured loans, second mortgage, credit card and so on. You should also ask the central Florida pool builders about their financing options.

Another option you can weigh in is buying an above ground pool which is usually more cost-effective and simpler to set up.

Insurance

Last but not least, before you green light the project, you need to contact your home insurance company to know how the pool installation will affect the policy rate. Pools are considered to be safety risks and this might impact your policy rate. Your insurer may require that you install a fence around the pool.

Making the above considerations will help you start your project on the right foot. Never take shortcuts, more so when it comes to the hiring of a pool builder.
