5 Anti-aging beauty treatments you can try at home

We live in the age of DIY beauty, why not DIY anti-aging treatments? You’re only 21 once, but why shouldn’t you look it? Below are 5 anti-aging, anti-wrinkle treatments that you can make with what’s in your pantry or a quick run to the store!

  1. Cucumber Aloe Cold Cream

Whether it’s a mask or a cream, the Cucumber Aloe Cold Cream is absolutely sensational! It’ll leave your skin feeling hydrated and the yogurt acts as a powerful exfoliant. You’ll need half a cup plain Greek yogurt and juiced lemon. You’ll also need one-fourth a cup of chopped and seeded cucumber and the same amount of aloe flesh, peeled and seeded.

Next, puree the ingredients in a blender. Once that is done, line a bowl with a mesh strainer and a few layers of cloth (i.e. cheesecloth). Pour your concoction into the bowl and place in the refrigerator for at least two hours. Then transfer, the new mixture into a clean bowl.

Apply this mixture to your face and leave on for thirty minutes. Once thirty minutes has passed, remove the cold cream with a wet wash towel.

2. DIY Hydration Masks: Honey or Extra Virgin Olive Oil

With both masks you’ll want to thoroughly clean your skin beforehand. For the honey mask, spread a teaspoon of honey all over your face for ten minutes. Rinse with warm water to successfully remove all the honey and impurities. For the second mask, rub a couple drops of extra virgin olive oil and gently rub into your face. Voila!

3. Blackberry Walnut Scrub

Our face always needs a good scrub now and then and if you have half a cup of black/organic raspberries and half a cup of walnuts you’re in luck! This scrub is power-packed with antioxidants and Vitamin E.

First, puree the walnuts and the blackberries in a blender. Add some water if necessary.

Apply the paste as you normally would.  Rub the paste into your skin in a circular motion. Rinse with lukewarm water afterwards.

4. Baggy Eye Treatment

Baggy eyes are common, but there is a simple solution. You’ll need to brew a cup of white tea on medium heat and let it steep. Let the tea cool so that it’s not boiling hot. Place a washcloth into the pot of tea and let it soak. Next, retrieve the washcloth and place on your face for 3-5 minutes. White tea is a natural deflator that reduces inflammation and provides plentiful antioxidants.

5. Avocado Coconut Oil

This oil is more for the whole body as opposed to your face. Combine one-fourth cup of avocado oil, sweet almond oil and melted, virgin coconut oil into a bottle or bowl. Shake well and apply to whatever parts of your body that you desire. These oils contain a generous amount of antioxidants and fatty acids. This oil also makes for a great massage oil. Engaging in stress-relieving exercises should generally leave you looking younger in the long run.
