3 Tips for Changing Up Your Look Based On The Seasons

As the seasons change during the year, many people feel like they’re reading for personal changes as well. For many people, this can be most evidently seen in the way their fashion and styles change along with the seasons. But even for those who don’t feel like they want a fresh start with a fresh season, there are some things that everyone should do in order to showcase their best self as temperatures and climates change. To show you how, here are three tips for changing up your look based on the seasons.

Caring For Your Skin

While you may think that your skin care regimen will be good to last you the whole year long, the weather you’re living in can have a big impact on the health and quality of your skin. Knowing this, it’s important that you make sure you’re caring for your skin in the best way for whatever season you happen to be in at the moment. According to Ayren Jackson-Cannady, a contributor to Better Homes and Gardens, your skin needs more exfoliating in the summer but less artificial hydration. Conversely, in the winter, you should exfoliate your skin less but hydrate that dry skin more. But for both seasons, it’s important that you properly apply sunscreen to help protect your skin from harmful UV light.

Switching Up Your Closet

If you live somewhere where you have distinct seasons, you likely have to change up your wardrobe based on how hot or cold it is in your area. This means that at least twice a year, you’ll be switching up your closet and updating your wardrobe. To ensure that you take the best care of your clothes when putting them in storage, HGTV recommends cleaning the clothes before you store them, making sure they’re stored in airtight containers, and not keeping them in the attic or basement where they could be vulnerable to pests or the elements.

Keeping Hair Looking Fresh

To keep your looks always up-to-date and for your hair to remain healthy, you may want to consider getting your haircut with each new season. While this isn’t necessarily a rule for proper hair care and maintenance, it’s good to trim your hair every few months to get rid of the damage that can accumulate. If you’re interested in completely changing up your hairstyle, Jenna Rosenstein, a contributor to Harper’s Bazaar, shares some of the stars you may want to emulate. Styles such as long bobs, a shaggy pixie, and bangs are a great way to update your look and get your hair ready for the fall fashions of 2017.

If you need some guidance for changing your look up for fall, use the tips mentioned above to help you do just that.
