28 teens arrested in Chicago after mob of 500 attacked women, police with ‘melee’ fighting in streets

Chicago police made 28 arrests Saturday night describing the scene as a “teenage mob action” and “wilding disturbances” which rocked parts of the city.

Hundreds of black teens reportedly were assaulting and attacking white pedestrians in the Mag Mile district.

The Chicago Sun-Times reported the “melee” occurred at the Magnificent Mile and a separate attack on a CTA Red Line train ended with 25 juveniles and three adults charged. The chaos engulfed tourists, shoppers and young women.

“You had a group of teens, close to maybe 500. They assaulted a Chicago police officer that was on a mounted on a horse and all of a sudden they assaulted a citizen walking the streets, just a normal citizen shopping and enjoying the weather,” community activist Andrew Holmes told WBBM.

Marquell Hicks, 18, and Bobby K. Rhodes, 19, were each charged with one count of misdemeanor reckless conduct, police said. So were 15 additional juveniles.

Meanwhile, police said Stephanie M. Hosch, 18, and 10 juveniles attacked a group of women aboard a CTA Red Line train about 6:30 p.m. Saturday.

Later Saturday night, WBBM reported a man was jumped and punched in the face by a group of teens.

Much of the activity was reported to have been planned weeks ago on social media, according to the station.

“I caution those parents if their child has been arrested which numerous teenagers have been arrested tonight, that you need to think about your child. Just don’t say the Chicago police picked on your child, when we were watching all the assault going on, especially by teen women,” Holmes told WBBM.

And these animals want more civil rights??!! Sorry, if you can’t act like a civilized human being then you will continue to get treated like the animals that you are. You all behave like savages. I wish one of these shitheads would mess with me…I will shoot them on the spot and make a hood ornament out of their heads. Worthless animals attacking women. They should drop a bomb on the west and south side and just be done with it. So sick of this…I can’t even feel safe when my girlfriend is downtown alone at work.

Supt. Garry McCarthy wants to set the record straight on the weekend melee in which throngs of teens crowded Chicago’s Michigan Avenue.
“There were no attacks,” McCarthy told NBC Chicago Monday. “These were groups of kids who engaged in fighting with each other.”

Oh really? Just fighting among themselves? So I guess the women that were attacked while commuting made that story up. Also, no police or police horses were attacked.

Enjoy stripping law abiding citizens of their rights to bear arms. you deserve these savages as they are your creation.

This doesn’t even make sense. If 500 blacks appeared at one time on the magnificent mile, the national guard would have been called in.
