Zoe Saldana discusses her initial thoughts on ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’
In the new Total Film magazine, issue 216, Avatar star Zoe Saldana discusses her initial thoughts on Guardians of the Galaxy and her ignorance of the comic book universe.
Saldana reflects on her thoughts after reading the script.
“I was like, Guardians?” she says. “There’s a person that’s a tree and there’s a racoon? Apparently they fight with The Avengers. I didn’t even know who The Avengers were!”
The Star Trek Into Darkness star eventually signed on to play Gamora, a green-skinned alien, and credits director James Gunn.
“He’s my kind of director,” she enthuses. “Animated, passionate, alive, young, fresh, full of ideas, and willing yo give 150 per cent.”
Meanwhile, the first look at some of the characters can be found HERE. The promotional artwork reveals the characters as they will be manifested on film. Dave Bautista’s Drax and Saldana’s Gamora become more clear as well as the CGI characters: Groot and Rocket Raccoon.
