‘Zero Dark Thirty’ star Jessica Chastain and ‘Dark Knight Rises’ actor Michael Caine set ‘Interstellar’

In two separate announcements, back-to-back Friday, news came a pair of award-winning actors were joining Christopher Nolan on his next film Interstellar.

Deadline says Jessica Chastain will play the third lead with Matthew McConaughey and Anne Hathaway and then later added the May 3 report that Michael Caine will be reuniting with the Inception diretor as well.

Michael Caine as Alfred butler Batman Dark Knight photoChastain will be following her Oscar-nominated Zero Dark Thirty film with the sci-fi drama, a co-production between Paramount and Warner Bros and was put in motion by Lynda Obst, who commissioned the original treatment.

Nolan rewrote a script by his brother Jonah, and the ambition is a heroic interstellar voyage to the farthest borders of our scientific understanding. It is shaping up to be a very ambitious and well-cast undertaking.

Caine most recently starring in Nolan’s directed The Dark Knight Rises, last summer’s blockbuster film. He will star in Now You See Me with Jesse Eisenberg, Morgan Freeman, Mark Ruffalo and Isla Fisher, due out May 31.

Interstellar is set for November 7, 2014.
