Zachary Quinto and Simon Pegg tweet that ‘Star Trek 2’ wraps up production
While there’s been little to no news regarding the “Star Trek” sequel, two of the film’s star quickly announced to fans yesterday that the film has wrapped production.
J.J. Abrams’ 2009 “Star Trek” was huge success, $385 million worldwide, successfully rebooting the franchise with a younger cast, yet keeping the loyal trekkie fans. Benedict Cumberbatch (“War Horse”) joins the cast as this chapter unknown villain.
Quinto returns as Mr. Spock and sent out an image and message to his Twitter followers @ZacharyQuinto earlier yesterday:

Then late yesterday Simon Pegg, who plays Scotty, also Tweeted, @simonpegg posted this confirmatory tweet:
Wind, reel and print. The countdown to May 2013 has begun.
While the film is officially untitled, “Star Trek 2” details will surely surface soon to energize the fan base.
Chris Pine, Zoe Saldana, Pegg, Quinto, Anton Yelchin, Karl Urban, John Cho, Alice Eve, Peter Weller, Noel Clarke, and Cumberbatch all star in the film.
“Star Trek 2” opens May 17th, 2013.
