Wyoming health officials officially link 306 norovirus cases with the Casper Golden Corral
In a follow-up to a story from Dec. 13, health officials with the Casper-Natrona County Public Health Department say they have officially linked 306 norovirus cases with the Golden Corral restaurant in Casper, according to a K2 Radio report today.
Casper-Natrona County Public Health Department director, Robert Harrington said, “There’s no question about it, those 306 did have exposure at the Golden Corral restaurant in the proper incubation period before their illness,” Harrington said. “Their symptoms fit with the illness and they got sick at that restaurant.”
Although the Golden Corral outbreak appears to be declining, county health officials say that Norovirus is widespread through Casper and Natrona County, including another outbreak at an assisted living facility.
Health officials say that the restaurant has been cooperative throughout the investigation.
