WWE Smackdown Live is from Raising Cane’s River Center Arena in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. The King of the Ring Tournament continues with Ali facing Buddy Murphy and Chad Gable squaring up against Shelton Benjamin.

Show Opener with Roman Reigns

The saga of Roman’s attacker is shown and Roman is interviewed by Kayla Braxton. Roman understands being attacked in the ring, but not backstage. Roman will save what he has to say to Daniel Bryan and Erick Rowan for in the ring.

 

 

WWE Champion Kofi Kingston In Ring

A video package reminds us of the feud so far. Kofi says he was just trying to prove he belonged in this spot as WWE Champion, but Randy Orton made it personal when he brought Kofi’s family into this. Randy appears on screen calling Kofi stupid and then reads a letter that is supposedly from Kofi’s son. Kofi runs to the back and is attacked by Orton. The two men fight but Orton gains the advantage and hits his DDT on Kofi from a production table. Orton leaves Kofi on the ground, calling him stupid.

 

Big E Backstage

Big E will attempt to avenge Kofi Kingston tonight in a match against Randy Orton.

Ali vs. Buddy Murphy

Ali wins by Pinfall after the 450.

 

 

Bayley and Ember Moon in the Locker Room

Ember Moon tells Bayley she is the face the Women’s Division, regardless of what Charlotte Flairs says. Lacey Evans interrupts and says Bayley is bringing down the entire division. WWE has already announced on social media that Bayley and Lacey Evans will face off in a non-title match tonight.

 

The Miz In Ring

The Miz challenges Shinsuke Nakamura to a match at Clash of Champions for the Intercontinental Championship. Sami Zayn comes out to speak on Nakamura’s behalf, ultimately goading Miz out of the ring and Nakamura attacks Miz from behind. Sami Zayn continues on the microphone as Nakamura assaults The Miz.

 

 

Elias and Kevin Owens in Shane McMahon’s Office

Kevin Owens is looking for Shane McMahon, but Elias informs him that Shane is not here at all tonight.

 

BayleyBayley vs. Lacey Evans

Bayley wins by Pinfall after the Flying Elbow. Charlotte Flair came out to the ringside area to watch in the middle of the match. Bayley and Flair exchange taunts after the match.

 

 

 

Daniel Bryan and Erick Rowan Backstage Interview with Kayla Braxton

Bryan and Rowan want an apology from Roman Reigns.

 

Randy OrtonBig E vs. Randy Orton

Randy Orton wins by Pinfall after the RKO. The Revival entered to help Orton and the referee did not see their interference. After the match, Orton and The Revival hits Big E with a Super RKO.

 

 

Elias on the King of the Ring Throne

Elias predicts his victory in to become King of the Ring and starts to insult the locals. Kevin Owens appears behind Elias and attacks him. The two men end up in the ring when Kevin Owens delivers the Stunner to Elias, then Owens leaves. R-Truth attempts to pin Elias to win the 24/7 Championship, but is stopped by Drake Maverick. Drake Maverick is able to score a Pinfall over Elias to become the new 24/7 Champion.

Chad Gable vs. Shelton Benjamin

Chad Gable wins by Pinfall with Sunset Flip style reversal into a pin.

 

 

 

Roman Reigns In Ring

Roman asks the crowd if he should apologize. The crowd says no. Roman says we should see this video and then determine if he should apologize. The video is another angle of the first attack which shows Erick Rowan’s involvement. After the video plays Daniel Bryan slaps Rowan and calls him a liar. Bryan comes out to the ring to convince ROman that he had nothing to do with this, and Roman hits Bryan with a Spear.
