Botches
- The time management could have been better. Miz TV and One Night in Milwaukee ate up significant time, but neither were bad segments.
- Too much of the matches were lost during commercial break. The Styles vs. Benjamin match had already started during commercial.
Bodyslams
- Charlotte vs. Becky was fantastic for twenty five minutes and had a huge ending. The Women’s Division carrying the show successfully once again.
- AJ Styles vs. Shelton Benjamin. Benjamin is one of the most underrated talents in WWE, and Styles and Benjamin were magical with their time. The Miz and Daniel Bryan were perfect on commentary, making their contribution to the segment without drawing from the match. A difficult balance to maintain, but these two pulled it off.
- Big Show vs. Randy Orton was a surprise both because it happened at all and then came off so well. These two are masters of this craft and made this a worthy main event.
Smackdown once again put on a better show than RAW this week. From beginning to end, this show was exactly what a wrestling show is supposed to be. To start immediately with a twenty five minute Women’s Championship match that is an instant classic was a bold move. It paid off as far as I can tell, because I was riveted. Jeff Hardy vs. Samoa Joe had a strange ending, and I hope if Joe’s injury is real that he has a speedy recovery. It’s a shame to see him leaving because of injury again. Miz TV framed the match between AJ Styles and Daniel Bryan for the WWE Championship perfectly. AJ Styles and Shelton Benjamin put on a great show. The collapse of Rusev Day is complete and the setup for Rusev vs. Aiden English is ready. And a legendary close with Randy Orton vs. Big Show. This is about as close to perfect as WWE’s shows get. Even though we only got four matches, it was a show with everything that makes pro wrestling fun to watch.
