Botches
- AJ Styles was stumbling pretty badly on the mic in the opening segment.
- The Miz vs. Rey Mysterio did not live up to its potential, and the chemistry between these two men seemed off.
Bodyslams
- Andrade “Cien” Almas vs. Jeff Hardy was an excellent opening match, with a legend and a rising star giving great performances.
- Becky Lynch has a swagger about her lately that makes her seem larger than life. She has become everything a professional wrestler sitting atop their industry should be. Becky Lynch is the hottest act in WWE right now.
Smackdown had to make some adjustments in losing Becky Lynch for Survivor Series. This telegraphed the move to put the WWE Championship on Daniel Bryan. Becky Lynch vs. Ronda Rousey was without a doubt the biggest match with the most fan interest on the card, and losing Becky made a repeat of Brock Lesnar vs. AJ Styles an even more obvious problem. Putting the belt on Bryan to give the fans Brock Lesnar vs. Daniel Bryan was the only move on this short of notice that could immediately bring more interest. The Uso’s segment makes Smackdown’s already superior Tag Team Division a shoe in for the win this Sunday. When RAW’s Tag Team Division is in disarray and the Team Captains of Bobby Roode and Chad Gable are already thrown together out of nowhere with no direction, it doesn’t make this seem like this match will be anything more than a way to showcase Smackdown’s superior talent. But the real story is Becky Lynch. Coming out with her broken face and delivering the strongest promo of the week, her stock is rising even faster. Lynch is straight fire, and without a doubt the hottest act in WWE. The Women’s Division is still carrying the company. And that’s not a bad thing.
