WWE Smackdown Live Results and Review February 19 2019 : Bowen’s Botches and Bodyslams

WWE Smackdown Live is from the Smoothie King Center in New Orleans, Louisiana. The NXT Superstars Aleister Black, Ricochet, Tommasso Ciampa, and Johnny Gargano appeared on RAW last night and stole the show, and they are rumored to be present backstage at Smackdown. The professional wrestling community is on fire because of these appearances, and the next generation of stars may be coming over the horizon sooner rather than later.

Six Man Tag Team Match
AJ Styles, Jeff Hardy, and Kofi Kingston with Big E and Xavier Woods vs. Samoa Joe, Randy Orton, and Daniel Bryan with Eric Rowan

Kofi Kingston scores the Pinfall victory over Daniel Bryan after the Trouble In Paradise.
After the match Shane McMahon announced that Daniel Bryan will defend the WWE Championship against Kofi Kingston.

Botches

  • Tommasso Ciampa brought Sheamus down on his own leg during a Power Bomb off the top rope, and if he isn’t injured from it he certainly looked like he was.

Bodyslams

  • Asuka vs. Mandy Rose was a hard-hitting match. Mandy Rose has improved by leaps and bounds since coming to the main roster, and she showed just how tough she is with the shots she took from Asuka here.
  • The New Day promo before the main event was fantastic, and showed everyone what made them such a hot commodity in the first place. These three ooze charisma, and they have had few opportunities to show their entertaining personalities lately. And WWE should show Big E doing their entrance every time. It was impossible to not be excited after watching that.

The up and coming NXT talents were showcased again tonight on Smackdown, but it didn’t seem as spectacular as last night on RAW. All of them looked great, but their presence didn’t seem as impactful as last night. It came off as exactly what it was, a re-run of last night with the Smackdown roster. That doesn’t change the fact that everyone on the main roster should be afraid. There is only so much television time to be had, and the top guys of NXT take advantage of every second the cameras on them. Kofi Kingston is on fire right now and has the full support of the live crowds. This translates to support from the television audience, and in turn #Kofimania is running wild on social media. Kofi has definitely earned this opportunity, and the fans seem ready for it. If Vince McMahon ready to let Kofi move up to the top spot remains to be seen.
