Asuka wins by Disqualification when Charlotte Flair attacked her with a Kendo Stick. Flair then attacked Becky Lynch, and all three women brawled at ringside with Asuka finally getting the Kendo Stick and standing tall on the announce table at the end.

Botches

  • The Rap Battle was embarrassing. The last time it worked, but that was New Day vs. The Usos. This time The Bar was a bad caricature, and The Usos had little to feed off of.
  • Naomi vs. Mandy Rose didn’t happen, and there are several segments that could have been shorter to give up enough time for a quick match between them.

Bodyslams

  • Daniel Bryan vs. Mustafa Ali was an incredible match and a great way to start off the show.
  • Jeff Hardy and Rusev vs. Samoa Joe and Shinsuke Nakamura was a good match for a hodge-podge tag team match being used to get four men from two feuds on television before the TLC Pay Per View.
  • Charlotte Flair vs. Asuka was almost as good as their Wrestlemania match and a worthy main event for the go home show before TLC.

This was not the best episode of Smackdown Live lately, but it did have two fantastic matches. Daniel Bryan vs. Mustafa Ali was an unexpected surprise. Not that the two men could pull off such a match, but that the two would be matched up at all. There was a time when smaller guys ruled WWE, such as Chris Jericho and Eddie Guererro. If the 205 Live guys keep getting opportunities like this, we could see that happen again. The Rap Battle that followed was not nearly as good as some of the gimmicks these tag teams have been involved in lately, but not all of them are going to be hits. The main event with Asuka and Charlotte Flair was perfectly executed in every way, including where the pieces are before TLC this Sunday. Naomi and Mandy Rose may have had their match dropped from the card, but the stories that needed attention got that time, so at least it was not wasted. The matches that have me the most excited for TLC all come from Smackdown Live, and all of them were showcased tonight.
