‘Wonder Woman’ film to have female director

Superhero movies and TV shows are the rage and Wonder Woman will be getting her feature in 2017. A new Thursday report claims that Warner Bros is moving quickly to secure a director for the Gal Gadot led film and that director will likely be a woman.

The analysis points out the obvious: let’s see out Batman v Superman does: “Time Warner has the I.P., so it makes sense for them to do it. At the same time, there is risk, because it’s a very crowded slate.” Comments BTIG’s Rich Greenfield, “Look at the way Disney executed its Iron Man, Captain America, Avengers movies. Whether Warners will be able to do that, time will tell. A lot is riding on the Batman v. Superman movie. They’ve had a successful Batman franchise, but they have to relaunch a multicharacter movie to establish characters like Wonder Woman. You can’t talk about how the next 10 movies will do until we see how successful Batman v. Superman is.”

While there is no news or hints at this point, Total Film threw out the name Michelle MacLaren who has experience on Breaking Bad and Game Of Thrones and could “make the step up from small screen to the bigs.”

Wonder Woman is scheduled for June 23, 2017.
