Winter Jam 2015 is underway and Family Force 5 is one of the ten bands on tour for this massive Christian music event. Derek Mount from FF5 spoke to us in an exclusive interview to preview the event, touring experience, making music and much more.
“It’s been amazing,” Derek says of joining Winter Jam, adding the FF5 loves to “put on a party…have some laughs and go over the top” and “this crowd really seems to enjoy that.”
Winter Jam 2015 features Skillet, Jeremy Camp, Francesca Battistelli, Building 429, Family Force 5, For King & Country, Newsong, Veridia, Blanca, About a Mile and speaker Tony Nolan.
Derek praised all of the bands on the tour as “wonderful, wonderful people” and promises fans are going to have a great experience.
Mount talks about the tour, credits Newsong for putting together a well oiled machine (with great food and ping pong behind the scenes) and “We are just spoiled.”
Family Force 5 has crossed between secular music and the Christian music scene and Derek promises more of that and says it’s a great opportunity for them.
Derek then explains how they put together the set for Winter Jam, how that is a “real challenge” and hopes than old and new fans can enjoy the night equally.
