Will Smith says ‘Hancock 2’ is not ‘in the works yet’
While promoting “Men in Black 3,” Will Smith addressed some rumors about a sequel to “Hancock” film saying it’s not in the works yet.
Talking with MTV news yesterday, the “I, Robot” star confessed he’d be interesting in returing as Hancock.
“This is a world where entertainment is consumed on so many different levels that sequels and all those ancillary products and that stuff are always in the working. There are so many outlets now that need to be filled, so I think that producers are always discussing those things. It’s something I would be interested in. But it’s not actually in the works as of yet.”
The 2008 film featured Smith as an alcoholic superpowered man, who was invulnerable and able to fly. The sci-fi plot thickens as co-star Charlize Theron is revealed to be a fellow immortal. Jason Bateman also starred in the Peter Berg directed film.
Berg returns this summer with next weekend’s “Battleship,” inspired by the Hasbro game. The film stars Taylor Kitsch (“John Carter,” “X-Men Origins: Wolverine”) and Liam Neeson (“Taken”).
“Men in Black 3” opens May 25th and star Smith, Tommy Lee Jones, Josh Brolin, Emma Thompson, and Jermaine Clement.
