Why Your Business Needs to Invest in Cleaner Air

Air quality is of the utmost importance. Why? Because, though unseen, dirty air can cause untold amounts of damage to those that breathe it in. What’s more, air pollution always has the potential to land companies in hot water with their health and safety regulators, too.

To find out exactly why your business needs to invest in cleaner air, be sure to read on.

The health effects of air pollution give you no choice

The following respiratory and cardiovascular effects of air pollution, those that are both short- and long-term, will no doubt make you look for an air extraction solution right away:

Short-term effects

  • Throat irritation
  • Respiratory infections
  • Headaches
  • Allergies
  • Nausea
  • Asthma attacks (for those that suffer from this condition)
  • Aggravated emphysema
  • Exiting heart disease

Long-term effects

  • Chronic respiratory diseases (such as occupational lung defects, pulmonary hypertension, and even asthma.)
  • Lung and skin cancer
  • Various heart diseases
  • Brain damage
  • Birth defects
  • Cataracts

There are no two ways about it — the health effects of air pollution give you no choice but to invest in cleaner air.

From an economic standpoint, dirty air causes a plethora of problems

Air pollution has a negative effect on your workforce’s health and wellbeing, and in turn, it has an impact on your business from an economic standpoint. Quite simply, the more sick days your employees are forced to take due to ill-health caused by dirty air, the less work your business gets done and, subsequently, the less profit it turns over. What’s more, your business could be slapped with a massive fine by its health and safety regulators if they deem your air quality to be anything less than perfect.

If not for the sake of your employees’ health, then, be sure invest in cleaner air to make sure that your business is allowed to carry on thriving in a financial sense.

You could cause damage to the environment

You may be a business owner, but you’re an earthling first and foremost. As somebody that calls planet earth their home, you have a duty to protect it from all potential harm. You cannot do this if you continue to contribute to air pollution.

By allowing your business to emit harmful toxins into the atmosphere, you could cause untold amounts of damage to the environment. These potential devastating effects include:

  • Plants not being able to produce or store food because they are now susceptible to a wider range of diseases and pollutants.
  • Trees not being able to produce oxygen or reduce C02 emissions.
  • The ecosystem losing its diversity and, as a result, making less food available up and down the food chain.

As you are now more than aware, you need to invest in cleaner air. If you don’t, you could cause serious damage to your workforce’s overall health and wellbeing, you could end up losing massive amounts of money, and you could contribute to the world’s failing eco-system. Be sure, then, to heed everything you’ve read above, and go out there and make a difference when it comes to the quality of your air.
