Ways to make the online shopping experience easier for your customer

Feature Popular Items

If you’re not tracking the inventory and sales of your most popular items, you should be. There are outlets that will keep automatic track of sales for you. You can also do the old-fashioned pen and paper count. Listing the top five to ten items on your home page will automatically tell shoppers what will result in a smart and satisfying purchase.

Unique Items

The most popular online businesses during the holidays are those offering unique items that can’t be found in department stores. Provide local services like yard decorating for Valentine’s Day or birthdays. Offer unique baked goods for Halloween parties. Consider the children’s parties…but also the adult Halloween fun. Brainstorm by yourself or with your team areas you haven’t yet considered, and create products to fill those holes.

Consider Partnering with Unique Producers

Let’s say you are a baker of unique and amazing holiday treats for small and large parties, but you don’t put on parties. Approach an event company and tout your original products that match theirs. With some work, you or your team can take your unique product or service and match it with another site or service. Offering your service as a supplement to other businesses will open your brand, and up your sales.

Make the Checkout Procedure Easier

One of the most important aspects of upping your holiday sales is attaining an online shopping cart system. Today there are ample options for setting up an easy to maintain shopping cart with technical support. One of those options, for example, is 1ShoppingCart. Many of these cart systems will also take care of our first mentioned goal, which is to track your top product sales. An easy to checkout system for your customers will result in return sales for you.

Easy Delivery and Review Process

Promising and honoring a fast and affordable delivery service is of upmost importance. Customers today are used to as fast as two hour delivery of products. For services where you visit a home or office, scheduling your service delivery is equally important. Customers will return and spread positive word of mouth with detailed delivery times, and deliveries made on time. Once you’ve made record sales whatever is your holiday season, allow a space on your site for customer comments. Nothing promotes positive sales like positive reviews. Feature those reviews on your home page as well. Remove all doubt for new potential customers. Even if a comment is negative, respond online and show other customers you are a business that will ‘make it right.’

These five steps are items you can sit with your team today and begin to implement. Decide on your popular items and feature them, find partners to help fill services that fit what you offer, get a trusted inventory and shopping cart system, and let customers offer reviews. Five simple steps that will lead to a robust holiday season.
