Ways In Which Your Company Can Benefit From Social Media

I spend a great deal of my time working with small businesses, and trying to help them find ways in which they can push for the success that they are after. One thing that very often surprises me when I do this, is how few businesses are taking advantage of social media in their dealings. Social media can help a business in so many different ways, and the fact that it is free to use makes it all the more worrying when I hear people say that they don’t use it in there business. If you are not yet using social media in your company, here are just a  few of the uses you can find for it.

Recruitment

When you are on the lookout for a new member of staff, the key is getting the right person in as quickly as possible. With this in mind, it is not enough to just put your jobs up on the job vacancy websites, you should also be using social media to get the message out there. You can also use sites such as  LinkedIn, where you can actively seek for someone who matches the credentials in terms of what you are after. Another great social media app is ShiftPixy which can help you to fill temp slots which you may have, and will connect you to temp workers.

Marketing

The statement ‘build it and they will come’ is not true in business and if you want to be successful and beat the opposition, you need to be shouting about who you are, and what you do. Now, as any small business owner will know, spending any money at all can be a tough decision, let alone on marketing. It is precisely for this reason that you should be looking at capitalizing on the opportunity which you have on social media, to promote your business to the world. Just think of how many people use social media each and every day, that is millions of pairs of eyes who could potentially see you business, how can you afford to pass an opportunity like that up?

Engaging

Traditional business approaches make it highly unlikely that you will ever have the opportunity to engage with your customers directly. This however, is exactly what you will be able to do on social media, speak directly with customers to promote, to help and to enhance their experience. Customers find it hard to place their loyalty these days, because of the sheer volume of competition that there is in almost every sector, engaging with your customer directly will not only help them in the short term, but it could very well see them be more loyal to you, which helps you in the long term.
