Wayne Brady tells Bill Maher: ‘I’ll be that stereotypical black dude’ and ‘I will beat your ass in public’
Funny man Wayne Brady is getting tired of HBOs Bill Maher endlessly questioning his “African-American credentials” or his “blackness” by referring to President Obama as “your Wayne Brady”, so much so that Brady gave Maher a little warning during an interview of HuffPost Live.
Speaking with host to Marc Lamont Hill Monday, the Whose Line Is It Anyway? improvisational comedian said, “I respect him as a comedian and what he does on HBO is great, but when he starts to drag me in, to use me as the cultural linchpin of his not-black-enough argument, that’s bullshit.”
Brady continues, ” Bill Maher’s never walked in my shoes, nor any black man’s shoes”. He goes on to say just because Maher slept with some black women doesn’t mean you lived the “black experience”.
“If it takes the black man in your mind (Maher’s), the stereotypical black dude, that guy exists, but that’s not the range of the black experience.
“When I meet you, when I talk to you again I’ll give you that black dude…and I will beat your ass in public”, Brady said.
