Volkswagen Super Bowl ad features angels getting their wings and a rainbow surprise ending

Volkswagen takes the early lead for funny Super Bowl commercials with  a spin on the “angels getting their wings” story parents tell their children.

Volkswagon Super Bowl ad Wings photo factoryIn the 2014 Game Day commercial from Volkswagen, watch as a father tells his daughter that every time a Volkswagen hits 100,000 miles, a German Engineer gets his wings.

The wings don’t always come at the best of times and the ad is filled with some fun scenarios.

No Super Bowl ad is great without a memorable ending and the VW ad has the daughter come back with a great rainbow line and funny finale without too much being spoon fed to the audience.

Last year Volkswagen to a lot of heat over their ad featuring a white man using a Jamaican voice, saying ‘Get in, get happy.’ While there were certainly critics, the ad proved to be funny and very memorable.

Here VW seems to play it more safe with physical humor.
