Vice Ganda sets new record; Vic Sotto proclaims My Little Bossings is the newest MMFF top grossing film
Based on a press release of ABS-CBN News posted on this website late last night, Jan. 16, 2014 (Philippine time), the Vice Ganda starrer movie Girl Boy Bakla Tomboy has made a whopping Php427M since opening on Christmas Day.
“The ABS-CBN’s film outfit announced the achievement during a thanksgiving party attended by director Wenn Deramas, network executives including President Charo Santos-Concio and Star Cinema head Malou Santos, and co-producer Viva Films’ June Rufino,” ABS-CBN claimed.
The management added that Girl Boy Bakla Tomboy which won 2nd Best Picture at the annual film festival is now being considered as the top grossing Filipino film of all time.
“The 2013 Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) entry starring Vice Ganda as four different characters made history on Thursday as the highest grossing Philippine film of all time, according to producer Star Cinema,” ABS-CBN claimed.
Meanwhile, if the biggest network is claiming that Vice Ganda’s movie is the highest earning entry to the MMFF, Vic Sotto is also claiming that My Little Bossings starring Ryzza Mae Dizon and Bimby Aquino Yap is the newest MMFF top earner.
“Walang pagsidlan yung aming tuwa at saya, kaligayahan namin. Dahil sa totoo lang, hindi ko ini-expect na ganun kalaki ang aabutin. Bago nga mag-Pasko, kumpiyansa naman ako na isa kami sa mga topgrossing film. Pero hindi ko in-expect na bukod sa mag-number one kami e nakapagtala pa ng mga record-breaking na first day, first week, at yung total nung buong festival,” Vic commented.
