Top Five Things to do in Pamplona, Spain

If you are planning a trip to Spain anytime soon, it is important that you know what the best and most important use of your time is. Going to Spain is a beautiful and breathtaking experience, so it is important that you spend every second wisely. 

To help you with all of your adventuring needs, we have compiled a list of the top five places we believe you should visit when In Pamplona, which is known for the ever-famous Bull Run, has a wide variety of sights to see!

The first thing you can do in Pamplona is to visit the Plaza del Castillo. The Plaza del Castillo is the main square of the city. It holds a great deal of history in and of itself and is still known to be one of the most significant places to visit when traveling to Pamplona. 

One amazing sight to behold in this beautiful city is the city walls. Since the Roman times, Pamplona has been used very strategically for Spain. Though their population was forced to be reduced once, the city still stands tall and proud. To see the history behind the walls and what they stand for, a visit to the walls in the evenings will grant you with battle reenactments and concerts. 

Have you ever seen a park that is a million square meters large? If not, it is crucial that you ensure you visit the massive Riverside Park. In the park, you can take a 17 kilometer walk around the park while seeing the Arga, Elorz, and Sadar rivers as you go. Who knows, you may even see the occasional boater in the river!

If you are interested in everything astronomy or scientific, it is dire that you take time to see the wonderful Pamplona Planetarium. Here you will learn all about the origins of the universe and astronomy. In fact, the expositions are projected onto a dome that is the largest in the world!

One of the key things you should consider attending if you are visiting Pamplona is the famous Bull Run. The Running of the Bulls in Spain is an event in which a herd of cattle, often times around six bulls, are let loose to run free in a section of the city. It can be viewed from a balcony or can be participated in on the street for those who are more daring. 

The best way to watch the Bull Run is from a balcony. In order to get to one of these balconies, you must rent one to ensure that you have the best seat in the house. There are many places to rent balconies from in Pamplona that you provide you with an amazing view of the festival including Dead Man’s Corner, Estafeta, and Mercaderes. 

Whether you are wanting to take a stroll in the park or learn the history of the city, Pamplona is filled with wonderful things to do or see, so don’t miss out!
