Tom Cruise says ‘Mission Impossible Rogue Nation’ motorbike chase was ‘gruelling’ ‘hairy’
Tom Cruise is back in Mission: Impossible — Rogue Nation, the fifth film in the franchise and Cruise talked about returning to play Ethan Hunt and the exciting chase scene revealed in the trailer.
Cruise, 52, promises to blow audiences away with the new stunt scenes and that particularly “hairy” stunt for the film involving a motorbike.
He told Yahoo! Movies: “It was physically the most gruelling sequence. We’re going at very high speed with Simon Pegg as my passenger, drifting through very narrow streets with cameras on [the bike].
“I’m not wearing a helmet or pads, and at one point I’m highsiding a guy. It was hairy, actually.”
This upcoming addition to the Mission: Impossible series is directed by Christopher McQuarrie, who also worked with Cruise on Jack Reacher.
McQuarrie also wrote both the World War II drama Valkyrie, and the futuristic sci-fi epic Edge Of Tomorrow, both of which starred Cruise.
Pegg returns with Jeremy Renner, Ving Rhames from the previous films, joined by Rebecca Ferguson, Alec Baldwin and Sean Harris as the film’s bad guy.
Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation opens on July 31.
