Tom Cavanagh defends CW, Grant Gustin when asked about ‘The Flash’ film
During the MegaCon panel this weekend, The Flash star Tom Cavanagh was asked about the upcoming The Flash film as part of the DC Comic Book Cinematic Universe. More on the panel coverage can be read HERE
“Here’s something I think you need to know: Grant Gustin is our Flash and you and your fan base have helped us create this TV show,” Cavanagh said, drawing a clear separation between the two approaches.
“It’s very hard to do a good movie, but we, as The Flash, are the marathon movie of the Flash. I mean, they will have the freedom to tell the story as they see it and I feel their rendition will be good for everybody.”
Ezra Miller was introduced as Barry Allen/The Flash in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, with a small cameo during Suicide Squad, and the standalone film will arrive in theaters in 2020.
Kiersey Clemons has been cast as Iris West with Billy Crudup set to play Barry’s father, revealed briefly in a Justice League teaser. Ray Fisher is rumored to have a cameo as well.
The film has no director and no villain has been confirmed. Many fans are hopeful that SDCC (or sooner) will prove to be a place for concrete updates.
