Three Florida men arrested in ‘moonshine bust,’ found with pineapple, peach and apple pie flavors
Three men have been arrested on charges of making moonshine in Haines City, Florida according to reports from Polk County sheriff’s detectives.
Detectives said they found a moonshine still and equipment, along with numerous Mason jars filled with flavored moonshine, inside the home of Joe Aaron, age 73, in Haines City.
At the home of Rickey Lamar Barnes, age 31, detectives found 59 grams of marijuana, a jar of moonshine and other items involved in the flavoring of moonshine, which included pineapple, apple pie and peach, reports said.
Detectives said they found numerous jars and jugs that held assorted flavors of moonshine at the home of Jacob Reed Mayes, age 28, also in Haines City.
Aaron was charged Thursday with possession/sale/manufacturing/transport of still material liquids; possession of illegal liquor, conspiracy to violate beverage law and unlawful possession/sale/transport of alcohol beverage containers.
Barnes was charged with possession/sale/manufacturing/transport of still material liquids, possession of illegal liquor, conspiracy to violate beverage law, unlawful possession/sale/transport of alcohol beverage containers, possession of more than 20 grams of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia, according to reports.
Mayes was charged with possession of illegal liquor, conspiracy to violate beverage law and unlawful possession/sale/transport of alcohol beverage containers.
