‘The Walking Dead’ season 6 marks the end for Steven Yeun’s Glenn
Steven Yeun is no longer an official cast member of The Walking Dead according to the show’s opening credits.
Some fans are hopeful that Glenn managed to survive the zombie flood during last week’s episode. Now Yeun’s name from the opening title sequence.
Vulture points out that this marks the first time Yeun hasn’t been credited in the opening since the Walking Dead pilot.
Showrunner Scott Gimple confirmed last week that Glenn will be back in some form teasing that “In some way, we will see Glenn,” he said, “some version of Glenn or parts of Glenn again, either in flashback or current story, to help complete the story.”
Moreover, a zombie Glenn could also be possible.
“I think that part of what that scene is about is the violence inflicted on Glenn, but from a bigger perspective, I think it’s really about his interactions with Nicholas,” David told Variety. “I feel like, regardless of what happened to Glenn, he paid a tremendous price for having been human to Nicholas, and that, to me, from an emotional point-of-view — whether or not Glenn is alive or dead or something else — the Glenn that we knew, the one that believed in the better side of humanity, I think is dead.”
The Walking Dead continues on AMC, Sundays at 9pm with this week’s show centering on Morgan (Lennie James) and skipping the Glenn incident.
Yeun was spotted filming new scenes for The Walking Dead, so it’s very possible they are filming flashbacks. Regardless, we will find out his fate in the next four episodes, Scott confirmed to TVLine.
“I definitely want viewers to have an emotional experience either way,” Scott said. “There are twists and turns, and bad things happen. Ultimately, it’s all part of a bigger story. I hope that the audience will just wait to see the greater story and see how it all plays out. They’re kind of stopping in the middle of the movie, which they have to because there’s a week between the reels. But we’re still in the middle of the movie.”
