‘The Vampire Diaries’ season 5 promises new friends and new enemies says exec
Julie Plec will be exective producer as the The Originals will premiere this fall, focusing on Joseph Morgan’s character, Klaus, moving to New Orleans which means a ton of new faces to replace the exiting cast members.
TVLine offered a promise to that accord in a May 28 article, starting with the lead in: “Prepare for a rush of college kids!”
“We’re definitely going to be entering an entire new world at Whitmore College, so we’ll get to meet new friends and new enemies,” reveals exec producer Julie Plec. “There’ll be a lot of new people entering our universe that we’ll get to know well — and then also maybe some new romantic interests for some of our characters.”
The finale left so many questions and cliffhangers, best summarized by TVLines review: “…season finale of Vampire Diaries delivered several juicy twists — Stefan is Silas’ doppelganger! Katherine’s human! Jer’s alive, but Bonnie’s still a ghost! — and left us with even more burning questions. Is the newly mortal Kat about to get killed? Will no one notice something’s off with Stefan? And is Tyler finally going to come home?”
Daniel Gillies as Elijah, Claire Holt as Rebekah and Phoebe Tonkin as Hayley will also continue to play their characters, originally from The Vampire Diaries, in the new spin-off series.
