‘The Last Ship’ season 2 adds Mark Moses, Brian O’Byrne, Nick Court
Mark Moses, Brian F. O’Byrne and Nick Court will join the upcoming second season of TNT’s The Last Ship in major recurring roles. Season 2 of the drama series, from producer Michael Bay, will air next year.
Season one proved to be part of an amazing year for TNT, which launched The Librarians to keep their successful streak alive. Deadline notes that “Last Ship averaged 5.6 million total viewers in its Sunday plays, with 2.1 million adults 25-54 and 1.7 million 18-49s. Its Season 1 finale drew 4.4 million viewers August 24.”
Season two was announced the fifth and final season of Falling Skies and a fourth season of Major Crimes.
“Moses, whose credits include Mad Men, Desperate Housewives and the current season of Showtime’s Homeland, will play a high-ranking U.S. government official trying to protect citizens from the plague. O’Byrne (Mildred Pierce) and Court (300: Rise of an Empire) are set to play Sean and Ned Ramsey, a pair of British brothers whose plans impact the mission of the USS Nathan James,” Deadline details in their casting news.
“Eric Dane and Rhona Mitra star in Last Ship, based on William Brinkley’s novel. It deals with a global catastrophe that nearly decimates the world’s population. Because of its positioning, the Navy destroyer Nathan James avoids falling victim to the devastating tragedy and must confront the reality of their new existence in a world where they may be among the few remaining survivors.”
