‘The Big Bang Theory’ season 7 update: Johnny Galecki talks Penny, wedding rumors and meeting Mike Massimino, Stephen Hawking
The popular sitcom The Big Bang Theory is cruising through another successful season and star Johnny Galecki reflected on the show’s amazing guests and dodges more questions about wedding plans for his character Leonard and Penny.
“In many ways they are the loves of one another’s lives, but they have so much to learn,” he says to Australia’s News.com in a new interview.
“Timing is not Leonard’s strong suit and I don’t think emotional maturity is Penny’s strong suit, because she seems to run away from any kind of proposal.”
The show has a long list of amazing guest appearance, adding James Earl Jones and Carrie Fisher this season. Galecki reflected on the “Wow factor” of meeting Stephen Hawking.
“When you’re in the midst of genius, you really feel it,” he says. “We all felt it with Stephen Hawking. He was really, really into it. It was great.”
But nothing compared to him meeting US astronaut Mike Massimino.
“I was fascinated by him,” Galecki says. “I have a respect for anybody who can come onto our show and play themselves. I find it terrifying. I think it’s really scary to open yourself up to be judged as yourself as opposed to the character you’re playing. I did it on Entourage, which was tough for me. I even find it hard to appear on panels at things like Comic-Con.”
