‘The 100’ season 2: Adina Porter discusses Indra, stunts, Marie Avgeropoulos
The CW’s hit show The 100 is rolling along through a second season and actress Adina Porter talked with us about her role as Indra, a warrior discovered by the group, a leader of this Grounder group.
Adina begins by talking about the audition process, not feeling it was her best performance, but how she’s excited to play Indra.
“I wrapped The Newsroom on Tuesday and was on a plane (to Vancouver)on Wednesday for The 100,” she explained.
She then explains Indra, the strong female leader of The Grounders and where the name came “Tundc” for the tribe, ties to Washington DC before the Earth was destroyed.
“I love the fact that we’re a tribe of people that do not have a problem having a women being a warrior, so it isn’t always brute force that you get people to do what you say,” she says, noting how Indra will use “mind games” or “nurturing” as Indra is great at manipulating people.
Adina then talks about the stunts and action on the show, “They have an amazing stunt coordinator,” she says, explaining how they email you the scene, how you practice while battling your “ego” to do as much as possible.
She notes that Marie Avgeropoulos does all of her own stunts as Octavia – “She’s a badass.”
Porter is well known for her roles on two of HBO’s popular shows: True Blood and The Newsroom. Listen to the full interview to hear some revealing truths about True Blood, life on set, which scenes Adina has watched, and most surprising, which she has not.
