Thanksgiving murder suicide attempt leaves Kishana Jeffers dead, Daryl Stegall hospitalized
A Texas woman was shot and killed in front of her children in a murder and attempted-suicide in Lewisville on Thanksgiving, police said. Now Kishana Jeffers is dead and Daryl Stegall is in the hospital with murder charges pending.

Lewisville Police captain Dan Rochelle reported that Stegall, 32, kicked in the front door to Jeffers’ Colonial Village apartment in the 100 block of E. Round Grove Road around noon Thursday. Jeffers, 30, was then shot and killed in front of her children. She died at the scene.
Stegall stood in the breezeway and shot himself. He survived the suicide attempt and remains in the hospital, Medical City Lewisville.
The children, a 7-year-old girl, 9-year-old boy and a 10-year-old girl, are safe.
The 9-year-old spoke to police, detailing the incident.
CPS and The Children’s Advocacy Center for Denton County responded, offered counseling and are staying with family members.
Stegall and Jeffers were on-again-off-again partners for 10 years, having the three kids together.
A police investigation into the incident is ongoing.
