Texas murder suicide: Teens Maria Perez, Isabelle Perez identiifed; killed by stepdad Victor Portillo
Texas authorities have identified the two teens and the man found dead inside a Katy area home Sunday morning as Maria Perez, Isabella Perez and Victor Portillo.
Sheriff Ed Gonzalez detailed the events at the 3800 block of Silverhawk Drive, identifying the bodies found Maria Perez, 14, Isabella Perez, 15, and their stepfather, Portillo, 40, all found in a bedroom on the second floor of the home.
Authorities said they received a call from the teens’ mother Reyna Isabel Perez around 3:50 a.m. Sunday, who claimed she could not find her family.
“At this point we don’t have anything to indicate that there’s an immediate threat or an ongoing threat to the community but as we always do it there is something that becomes known that others need to be aware of we’ll provide that information and take precautions but at this point there doesn’t appear to be any threat to the broader community out here,” Gonzalez said.
All three were found to have died from an apparent gunshot wound. Gonzalez confirms that officials are treating the shooting as murder suicide.
He described the triple killing as an act linked to domestic violence.
The Nicaraguan Queen Pérez Arróliga, originally from Jalapa, is also being questioned by police to detail the tragedy to the family from Nicaragua.
