Texas murder suicide: Gregory Bailey, Rebecca Bailey identified in Seguin murder suicide
Seguin police identified Friday morning a Texas couple recently killed in an apparent murder suicide earlier this week.
The couple was Gregory Bailey, 62, and Rebecca Lynn Bailey, 55, according to police.
Their bodies were found by firefighters around 5 a.m. on Monday when a motorist noticed a fire near the Love’s Travel Stop near Interstate 10 and FM 477. The Bailey’s mobile home appears to have been set ablaze on purpose.
The Seguin Fire Department, Seguin Police Department, Seguin Fire Marshal’s Office, Marion VFD and the Guadalupe County Sheriff’s Office all originally responded to the scene.
Officers found a note that appeared to indicate the incident was a murder suicide, according to a release. The note was placed on the fence just outside the home.
The news release also noted that police believe one of the two was experiencing “significant personal health issues,” but did not specify who. “The motive is being investigated; however, it is believed that one or more of the occupants of the mobile home were experiencing significant personal health issues,” the release said.
Police continue to investigate.
