The majority of cases have been reported in north Texas, in particular, the Dallas and Fort Worth area.

It is still not clear if the Texas outbreak is linked to the outbreaks in Iowa and Nebraska. The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) came out last Friday saying the source of the outbreaks in these two states were due to salad mix from Taylor Farms de Mexico, a processor of foodservice salads.

Taylor Farms salad was reportedly served at Olive Garden and Red Lobster restaurants in Iowa and Nebraska. Both restaurant chains are owned by Darden Restaurants.

The DSHS says the following counties have reported Cyclospora infection: Brazoria, Cass, Collin, Coryell, Dallas, Denton, El Paso, Ellis, Fort Bend , Galveston , Guadalupe, Harris, Henderson, Hidalgo, Hood, Hunt, Johnson, Kaufman, Montague, Nueces, Parker, Potter, Smith, Tarrant, Tom Green, Travis, Van Zandt, Victoria, Walker, Wichita, Williamson, Wise.

The latest update from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) today notes they been notified of 466 cases of Cyclospora infection from the following 16 states: Arkansas, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Iowa, Illinois, Kansas, Louisiana, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, New Jersey, New York (including New York City), Ohio, Texas, and Wisconsin.
