Authorities in Kaufman County, Texas are investigating a road rage case which ended with a high speed car chase, a crash, gun shots fired, a dead body in the trunk of the vehicle and drugs hidden in the anus of the suspect.
Freddie T. Gilbert, 33, has been identified as the suspect in the incident which started with a rage call to Forney police. Officers and Kaufman County deputies gave chase on Monday as Gilbert sped away in a black Hyundai, accelerating to speeds topping 105 mph in an attempt to evade police. He drove only eight to ten miles until he spun out of control and crashed on I-20.
Gilbert reportedly fired a gun at another driver on U.S. 80 in Forney and the sheriff’s office found a female body in the trunk of his vehicle.
“It was a brief pursuit, the vehicle wrecked out and the suspect was arrested without incident,” Lt. Jolie Stewart said.
Jac Quisha Isaac, 19, of Dallas., has been identified as the victim found by the Kaufman County Sheriff’s Department
The driver was taken into custody.
Stewart said additional charges related to the discovery of the body were expected.
Gilbert was arrested, two bags fell out of his body as he was undergoing a strip search while being processed.
One bag is thought to have contained marijuana, while the other contained a substance that appeared to be crack cocaine, according to the KCSD. Gilbert was also in possession of guns and ammunition at the time of his arrest, deputies reported.
Gilbert is awaiting arraignment on charges of evading arrest/detention with a vehicle, and bringing prohibited substances into a correctional facility.
