Ted Nugent apology: ‘Not necessarily to the president’
In a follow up to a story earlier, ax-man and gun enthusiast Ted Nugent tried to apologize for the name-calling rant from an interview with the website, Guns.com where Nugent called the US President inflammatory names like “subhuman mongrel” and “chimpanzee”.
The announcement of the apology of sorts was made on the radio show of Republican Ben Ferguson Friday, in fact, Ferguson went so far as to put it as a post on his Facebook page.
The apology, questionable at best, went like this–“I do apologize – not necessarily to the president – but on behalf of much better men than myself.”
He apologized to Texas gubernatorial candidate, Greg Abbott, whom he was on the campaign trail with this week when this all came out.
The Motor City Madman appeared to regret using the above language as several Republican politicians decided to disassociate themselves from Nugent and Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) went as far as tweeting that Nugent should apologize.
“I apologize for using the term,” Nugent said. “I will try to elevate my vernacular to the level of those great men that I’m learning from in the world of politics.”
