Tampa’s UACDC sets Eighth Annual Gala: A Masquerade Affair for November 2

The University Area CDC (Community Development Corporation) will hold its eighth annual gala: A Masquerade Affair, on Saturday, Nov. 2, from 6 to 10 p.m. at the University Area Community Center at 14013 N. 22nd St. in Tampa. Award-winning journalist ABC Action News anchor Deiah Riley will serve as event host.

Presented by Advent Health, A Masquerade Affair is University Area CDC’s largest fundraiser of the year, celebrating the organization’s accomplishments while raising significant contributions for operations and programs. This year’s event will have a Great Gatsby and roaring 20s theme and will include an art gallery, catered culinary stations, live entertainment, dancing, silent auction, martini bar, dessert bar and a VIP speakeasy reception, sponsored by CenterState Bank.

Specifically, proceeds from the 2019 Gala will benefit the University Area CDC’s Attainable Housing initiatives.

“We strongly believe that everyone deserves to have a place that they call home and by working together we can rise to the challenge of solving our attainable housing crisis by partnering and leveraging our resources,” said University Area CDC CEO Sarah Combs. “The University Area CDC is taking an innovative approach to attainable housing and creating unique models that will work for the residents that live in the University Area. We are building single family housing, modular housing, multi-family housing, townhomes and are looking outside of the box to understand what it takes to make a resident a home owner and going the extra mile to make it happen.”

Ticket purchases and more information for the event, held at the University Area Community Center are available by calling 813.558.5212 and by visiting www.uacdc.org/gala.

University Area CDC, celebrating more than 20 years of serving the community, offers support for thousands of Tampa residents through youth programs, adult education and resource assistance.
