Syrian extremists crucify seven men over issue with ‘protection tax’

ISIS extremists in Syria executed seven Muslim men by means of crucifixion for violations related to payments of the “protection tax” for Christians. Shocking pictures of two crucified men dominated a Twitter feed from Syria as the jihadists murdered the men while holding the town of Raqqa Mission Network News reports.

“We’ve heard of this happening quite a bit in Syria,” Tom Doyle, Vice President of E3 Partners said. “It hasn’t been getting covered on major networks. I’ve seen occasional stories, but when I first heard this story, it reminded me of one that I’d heard, sadly, two weeks ago.”

Sadly Doyle doesn’t see and end to the extreme violence which has resulted in 100,000 people killed and millions displaced.

“With Iran backing the Alawites, and the Arab nations backing the Sunni Muslims, it just seems like there are endless amounts of fanaticism, weapons, money, and they’re going to fight to the death,” Doyle said.

Christians continue to suffer persecution at the hands of Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIS) leaders as well as Muslims in the region submissive to the control of these extremists. Christian leaders in the area recently signed an agreement to pay a “protection tax.” They must heed the the demands of the militant leaders in the country, including the banning of church repairs and Christian symbols.

“We just have to pray for the brave servants of the Lord that are staying in Syria in the midst of this horrific mess where entire Christian villages are being targeted,” Doyle said.
