Steve Carell talks ‘Anchorman 2’ return, Brick’s romance with Kristen Wiig and death by trident
Steve Carell has hinted that ‘sparks’ fly between Brick and Kristen Wiig’s character in the upcoming Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues.
“Let’s just say there are some sparks that ignite between those two characters. I won’t tell you anymore than that but…they’re two people who kind of find each other at some point,” The Office tells MTV UK.
In the first full trailer for the sequel, see below, Brick shares an encounter with Wiig’s as yet unnamed character who shares a striking resemblance to the loveably simple weatherman.
“Brick is pretty formidable, you know,” he began. “I wouldn’t wanna see that fight because that would be just sad to see a Minion skewered with a trident but I’d have to say Brick. Brick would probably win most fights with anyone…”
Wiig and Carell star opposite in Despicable Me 2 as well.
Wiig joins fans in their love of Carell’s work.
“Yes,” she joked with E Online, but then added, “You kind of can’t get sick of Steve Carell. You just can’t.”
