Jon Watts is directing Sony’s reboot of the Spider-Man franchise with much greater influence and advice from Marvel Studios. Marisa Tomei will portray Aunt May and Zendaya Coleman is also on board in a mystery role.

Plot details are still being heavily guarded as is a description of Glover’s character.

Kevin Feige is producing with Amy Pascal. Production is expected to star this summer with the film hitting theaters on July 7, 2017.

Glover most recently appeared in the Oscar-nominated film “The Martian” opposite Matt Damon and Jessica Chastain. He can be seen next in his FX comedy “Atlanta,” which premieres later this summer. His other past credits include “Lazarus” and “Magic Mike XXL.”
