Shocking viral video captures rescue of Chinese baby from toilet sewage pipe

A shocking video has emerged showing firefighters in the Chinese city of Jinhua rescuing an infant from a toilet sewage pipe.

The video from the rescue, firefighters detach the portion of the sewage pipe where the infant was lodged, then proceeded to pry out the still crying baby after using pliers, a saw and other tools to break the pipe wall.

The infant was found in the toilet sewage pipe in a residential building in the city of Jinhua on Saturday afternoon and the video has gone viral across the Internet.

Residents in the building reported to firefighting department that they heard baby crying in the toilet of the fourth floor.

Local firefighters soon rushed to the site to rescue the infant, who was later found, a newborn boy with his placenta uncut.

After cutting down the sewage pipe, firefighters sent the infant, still covered by the pipe, to the nearest Pujiang County Hospital where they took away the pipe piece by piece with the help of doctors, using a saw and pincer pliers.

The rescue operation took almost an hour, but the infant is now in stable condition.

Police are investigating on the case, yet the infant’s parents had failed to show up by Monday afternoon.
