‘Sherlock’ season 3 set photos released featuring Benedict Cumberbatch, Martin Freeman and Mark Gatiss
BBC One has released new Sherlock behind-the-scenes pictures. Four photos from the hit detective drama’s upcoming third series have been released online.
Benedict Cumberbatch (Sherlock) and Martin Freeman (John Watson) both feature in the images, as does Mark Gatiss, who plays Mycroft and also writes the show alongside Steven Moffat.
The Killing‘s Lars Mikkelsen will appear in the next series as Charles Augustus Magnussen, billed as “Sherlock’s new nemesis”. Cumberbatch was quoted saying that Mikkelsen delivers an “incredible new villain” during a chat where he explained the complex Sherlock Holmes
“I’m not like Holmes,” he says. “I don’t have his capacity to compartmentalize.” Cumberbatch adds, “I’m now haunted with, ‘But he did want children, and now he doesn’t? What’s gone wrong? Is he gay? Can’t he commit to relationships?’ All this speculative s**t. There’s a point where I just go, ‘I’ve said all I have to say.’ ”
The show’s third run will again comprise three feature-length episodes – ‘The Empty Hearse’ by Mark Gatiss, ‘The Sign of Three’ by Stephen Thompson and ‘His Last Vow’ by Steven Moffat.
