Season 3 of BBC’s incredibly popular series Sherlock, the modern day Sherlock Holmes, now has a return date.

IdigitalTimes confirms Thursday that the “countdown clock” made available was accurate and points to a return date of October 31.
LATEST: The premiere date was tweeted by Blogtor Who wrote: “Sherlock Series 3 Ep 1 is set in November and will air on Jan 1, 2014.”
UPDATE: Andrew Scott (Moriarty) claims the cast is banned from revealing details to family or friends – more here
The huge delays between the seasons have driven fan frenzy and producers even had to ask fans to stop posting spoilers on the Internet and please quit sharing set photos.
The fan obsession with the show it understandable, creator Steven Moffat speaks of what makes the stories compelling, “Conan Doyle’s stories were never about frock coats and gas light; they’re about brilliant detection, dreadful villains and blood-curdling crimes — and frankly, to hell with the crinoline. Other detectives have cases, Sherlock Holmes has adventures, and that’s what matters.”
With that said, the tumblrs setlock and sherlockfilming have a whole slew of set photos including some with Benedict Cumberbatch (Holmes) hiding behind the distinctive Queen’s Guard wearing a bearskin hat. Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman (Watson) were both spotted filming on the streets of Cardiff (Pics HERE). Why are you repeating bad information from another website? The third episode won’t even be filmed for another couple of months. An October airdate is very very unlikely. Don’t believe everything other blogs say!
