Shelton Curtis identified as double homicide suspect, manhunt underway
A man who is considered armed and dangerous is on the loose, having been charged with killing two 18-year-old men in Gary, Ind., police announced.
Shelton Curtis, 22, faces two counts of murder in the Aug. 6 shooting deaths of James Powell and Raymond Washington-Whitehead, authorities said.
The home where the teens were killed was broken into two days after the murders and then went up in flames on Monday.
Both victims were age 18 and pronounced dead from multiple gun shot wounds. Police believe this a marijuana deal gone bad and an argument over “price” left the two young men dead.
A third man has also been shot and killed, linked to this case, which is obviously drug releated.
Police say the murders, the burglary and the fire are not related, but added that the investigation is ongoing and the manhunt will corss over from Indiana into Illinois.
Anyone with knowledge of his whereabouts is urged to call Gary police at (219) 881-1260.
