Shane Harper talks ‘God’s Not Dead,’ lessons from ‘Good Luck Charlie’ and a new album

Shane HarperEXCLUSIVE: Shane Harper is mostly recognized by his music and the role of Spencer on the popular sitcom Good Luck Charlie. Shane is also starring in God’s Not Dead, a new film co-starring Kevin Sorbo, Dean Cain, David A.R. White and directed by Harold Cronk.

Shane talked with The Global Dispatch/Dispatch Radio about the film, his time on Good Luck Charlie and his work on new music.

“I’ve always been really interested in Apologetics and the idea of defending your faith,” Harper says of the draw to the character in the film.

Harper discusses the pages and pages of detailed monologue for the debates scenes, noting the battle between science and religion. The film follows Josh’s progression through the film, “a spiritual journey” and how he’s learning throughout the film.

“Science and the Christian faith are not mutually exclusive,” he says as he explains this frustrating conflict which rests at the epicenter of God’s Not Dead.

The young star offers nothing but praise for co-star Kevin Sorbo as the volatile Philosophy professor and seems excited to fans to see the great chemistry between all of the cast members.
