Sarah Palin book signing set for Orlando, promoting ‘Sweet Freedom’

Life presents everyone with challenges, struggles, and questions—both at the personal and national levels.  With religious freedoms under attack and those of faith under siege, it’s all too easy to despair.

“Americans sense that this exceptional nation we know and love is changing so fast it might become unrecognizable,” writes former Alaska governor and vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin in her new book, Sweet Freedom: A Devotional (Regnery Faith; November 16, 2015; $19.99).

But there is hope. “While many wring their hands and wonder where our freedom has gone,” writes Governor Palin, “you’re going to discover that true freedom—the kind that can’t be taken away—is well within our grasp.”

Drawing on the Old and New Testaments, addressing everything from divine forgiveness to human self-defense, this is a devotional like no other.  Revealing, occasionally feisty—as you’d expect from a “mama grizzly”—but always reflective and rooted in deep faith, Sarah Palin’s first-ever devotional provides a roadmap for rediscovering faith and fortitude throughout the year.

In Sweet Freedom, Governor Palin invites readers to draw strength and inspiration from 260 meditations based on guiding biblical verses. She assures readers they are not alone in their doubts and anxieties—we all bear the burdens of everyday stresses, and for most of us, concerns spread beyond ourselves to our families, communities, and country.  Governor Palin shows that with abiding faith, and by opening up to the truths that have saved mankind for generations, we can experience joy and peace.

Sweet Freedom will share devotional insights exploring and applying biblical principles to key social and political issues.  Devotional entries include:

  • “Facing Down the Political Giants”—encouragement to ask for God’s wisdom in considering which candidates to support

  • “Accept the Challenge; Accept the Courage!”—a call to future generations to support and serve in our military

  • “Created for a Purpose”—honoring God’s value and purpose for every human life

  • “Slapped with a Racism Label? Well, Peel It Off!”—a prayer against division and deception at work in the media and culture

  • Bonus Holiday devotionals for Christmas, Thanksgiving, Independence Day, and more
