Samuel L Jackson confirms ‘Split’ sequel, ‘Glass’ starts filming next month

M. Night Shyamalan surprised fans with Split, a great, suspenseful thriller which had a twist ending, linking it to Unbreakable and set up a sequel: Glass.

The reveal of Bruce Willis’ character at the end got many excited about the potential, and indeed bolstered by the success of Split, Shyamalan and Universal fast-tracked development on Split 2 / Unbreakable 2 and confirmed Samuel L. Jackson for the new film.

While promoting their new film The Hitman’s Bodyguard, Jackson and co-star Ryan Reynolds spoke with Collider and the Avengers star dropped the news: Glass will film next month.

“We start rehearsal on [September] 18th and I start shooting on the 25th,” Jackson said to Collider.

Willis will indeed return with James McAvoy, reprising his creepy role in Split with Anya Taylor-Joy along with franchise newcomer Sarah Paulson.

The R-rated thriller grossed $276 million worldwide against a budget of just $9 million.

This new film, Glass, will center on McAvoy’s “The Horde” crossing paths with Willis’ David Dunn and the evil trappings and manipulation from Mr. Glass.

Glass doesn’t hit theaters until January 18, 2019
