Saeed Abedini shares disturbing story of 6 executed in Iranian prison

Pastor Saeed Abedini, the American Christian pastor jailed for over two years in Iran, shared the shocking beating and execution of six fellow prisoners during a rare visit from a family member. Saeed’s wife, Naghmeh, shared the story on her Facebook page as well as give an update on the most recent visit, Wednesday.
Naghmeh Saeed Abedini“Saeed was quite shaken as he had to witness 6 fellow prisoners being beaten and taken to be executed (hanged) that day. It was a hard and dark day having witnessed that and seeing life being taken. The prison visit was also very hard as the families of those who were executed were crying and wailing…”
She continued to call for prayer and discuss the difficulties for her two children who are approaching another birthday without their father. Saeed was sentenced to eight years for crimes against the state after being arrested for working on a Christian orphanage. (which had been state approved previously)
On Wednesday Naghmeh posted about the most recent visit:

Today Saeed’s father was able to have an in person visit with Saeed!

It was a good time of fellowship and prayer. It was also hard for Saeed realizing that Jacob’s birthday is coming up soon (March 17). He got to see Jacob’s birthday invitation and it broke his heart that he might not be able to make it for his birthday. These milestones are always bitter sweet and the reminder of the years going by. But Saeed is standing strong in his faith and counts it all joy to be suffering for Christ.

Saeed wants you all to know that He can feel all of your prayers and that it crosses prison walls! The Lord has been ministering to Him and strengthening him despite the harsh prison conditions.

Finally, with Iranian New year/holiday coming up, Saeed will most likely not be able to have visitors for the next month. Please pray for Saeed and also for me as I will not be able to get updates.

Love you all!

Naghmeh

Saeed’s plight has transformed Naghmeh into an advocate to get Saeed and others released from the Iranian jails, end the senseless beatings and be a voice against global persecution. She had met with world leaders, including President Obama.
The Dispatch has been blessed to speak with Naghmeh twice about the arrest of Saeed and the conditions in Iran – check those out below.
