Russia’s nuclear exercise with 40 million citizens shows increased tensions with America
Multiple sources are detailing the shocking nuclear exercise with over 40 million people in drills to counter the “schizophrenics from America sharpening atomic weapons for Moscow,” according to Vladimir Putin’s Ministry of Defense.
Russians had been told that a war with the West could be imminent and Kremlin officials have said underground shelters have been built to house 12 million people.
“The three-stage four-day drill involves more than 40 million people, more than 200,000 specialists of rescue units based in regions, organizations and enterprises, as well as some 50,000 units of equipment,” said the Ministry of the Russian Federation for Civil Defence, Emergencies and Elimination of Consequences of Natural Disasters spokesman.
“Management bodies and forces of the Emergency Ministry’s territorial bodies have been put on simulated high alert. Representatives of federal executive authorities, heads of regions, local governments and organizations are taking part in the massive drill.”
The further details show the massive scope and scale of the operation: “Emergency Ministry’s forces and facilities are fully engaged, including rescue military divisions, rescue units, paramilitary mine rescue units and State Small Vessels Inspectorate, fire departments and aircraft. The topic of the drill is Organization of civil defense during large natural and man-caused disasters in the Russian Federation.”
EMERCOM stated on its website: “The drill will rehearse radiation, chemical and biological protection of the personnel and population during emergencies at crucial and potentially dangerous facilities. Fire safety, civil defence and human protection at social institutions and public buildings are also planned to be checked.
“Response units will deploy radiation, chemical and biological monitoring centers and sanitation posts at the emergency areas, while laboratory control networks are going to be put on standby.”
Under the 2000 Plutonium Disposition Pact, both sides were told to get rid of 34 tonnes of surplus nuclear material by burning it in reactors. EMERCOM has announced its intention to build underground facilities beneath Moscow to shield 100 per cent of the capital’s population from a nuclear attack.
